RockWallet is aware of ongoing recruitment scams in which individuals and fake LinkedIn profiles impersonate our recruiters and team members.
These scams typically involve fake job offers or interview requests designed to collect your personal or financial information.
We take this seriously and want to help you protect yourself. RockWallet will never ask you for payment or sensitive personal information, such as your Social Security number or bank details, during the application process.
How to Verify a RockWallet Recruiter
Legitimate RockWallet recruiters will:
- Contact you from an email address ending in @rockwallet.com or @mg.collage.co
- Direct you to apply through our official careers site: rockwallet.com/careers
- Conduct interviews through formal channels, such as scheduled video or phone calls—never chat-only platforms
- Give you clear, detailed information about the role and explain next steps
- Contact you only for legitimate hiring purposes, like scheduling an interview or discussing a role. They will not offer resume help or career coaching.
Red Flags to Watch For
Be cautious of LinkedIn profiles or messages that include:
- Inconsistent or sparse work history
- Profile pictures that look AI-generated, overly polished, or unprofessional
- A LinkedIn URL that doesn’t contain the person’s name or looks randomly generated
- Poor grammar, vague messaging, or promises that sound too good to be true
- Pressure to act urgently or interview immediately without an application
- Requests for sensitive information, money, gift cards, or crypto
Best Practices to Stay Safe
- Verify the contact. Search LinkedIn for the recruiter’s name and check for duplicate profiles.
- Check the email domain. We will only contact candidates from @rockwallet.com and @mg.collage.co.
- Keep your personal data inside our secure application process. Don’t share it anywhere else.
- Never send money, crypto, or make purchases as part of the hiring process. A real employer will never ask.
- Trust your instincts. If something feels off, it probably is.
What to Do If You’re Contacted by a Suspicious Profile
- Don’t engage further or share any personal information
- Report the profile directly to LinkedIn
